Dr. Khương Hữu Long served as the first Minister of Health under the last Emperor Bão Đại (Việt Nam regained its independence as French occupation ended after Word War II). Dr. Khương supported and championed many political reform initiatives that were successfully responsible for various imperial and presidential appointments of cabinet members and prime-ministers under his royal majesty Emperor Bão Đại administration and the 1st & 2nd Republic of South Vietnam (Ngô Đình Diệm and Trần Văn Hương). In 1946, Prime Minister - Dr. Nguyễn Văn Thinh appealed to Dr. Khương to accept the position of Minister of the department of Health as Emperor Bão Đại assembled his first cabinet positions to commence his ruling administration under the French occupation. After the discovery of the French imperialistic and colonization goal for Việt Nam, Dr. Khương ̣(along with his colleagues ) submitted his resignation. Subsequently, his Majesty, Emperor Bão Đại appointed Dr. Khương to be the next Prime Minister, Dr. Khương declined such appointment - refused to cooperate and worked for the French that was colonizing our country Việt Nam. It was also Dr. Khuong's referral to Emperor Bão Đại that Dr. Hữu became the next Prime Minister for Việt Nam under the rule of his Majesty Emperor Bão Đại. Dr. Khương was well respected by the Vietnamese peasants, French government officials, and Vietnamese Aristocrats. Under a complex war time with the French, with his patriotic idealism philosophy, Dr. Khương continued to deliver free medical services & care to the poor families.
